Forumosa is a dynamic, real-life online community. The majority of new Forumosans hear about the website by word-of-mouth - a friend or colleague recommended they join. With over 10,000 registered Forumosans, we approve 6 to 8 new registrations every day, including weekends. New Forumosans make up 20% of visits to the forums a week.

According to our Google Analytics, Forumosa is visited 1,900 times a day on average, in which there are over 21,500 page views. This means that on a typical day, a Forumosan will see 8 to 10 ads, depending upon what exactly they are doing on the website (since not all pages have advertising).

There are 960+ unique visitors a day, and they post almost 600 messages. In other words, a new message is posted on Forumosa every 2 minutes. Nearly 70% of visits to Forumosa are keyed in directly - meaning that msot people are not just clicking over from search engines. We interpret this to mean that Forumosa is visited deliberately, revealing a tremendous level of engagement and loyalty, which are very attractive qualities of any audience.

Over 77% of IP addresses are based in Taiwan. At the same time, 76% of browsers visiting Forumosa use English language encoding, while only 20% are set to a Chinese encoding. We believe this means that most of Forumosa's regular audience are foreign residents. This group typically has more disposable income than their peers. They spend more and need more than their colleagues because they are living in Taiwan long term (more than 3 months) in a language environment very different from home.

Of all the ways people can enter the website, 61% choose to come in from the front page. Thirteen (13%) percent have programmed a Latest Post search into their browsers(called 'bookmarking') - interestingly, 1% start by checking topics that they have posted in, a special feature called an Ego Search that is available only to those who log into Forumosa.
