Forum rules
This forum is for the listing, promotion, and discussion of the specifics of events in Taichung and central Taiwan. Please include a date in your title (e.g. 3/25) and - in the post - an address in English if possible. If you are providing the information in the form of an online photograph/flyer/poster, it is also advisable to provide the essential details in text as well, so as to facilitate ease of cut-and-paste.

As we wish to encourage people to post their events here, negative commentary isn't welcome in the Events forums. You are, however, more than welcome to post the same debate-encouraging negative criticism of bands, artists, etc. in the Arts & Entertainment or other appropriate forums.

For anyone wanting to celebrate Canada Day.
02 July at 14:00 - 03 July at 02:00
Chung Jen Community Centre
Section 1, Liu Chuan West Rd. # 59
Taichung, Taiwan

This is what Guan Xi Mag's Facebook page said:
We are pleased to announce Taichung's first annual Canada Day Fair being held on July 2nd 2011 at the Chung Jen Park and Community Center (崇仁活動中心).

The atmosphere will be reminiscent of an old style Canadian County fair with lots of fun activities for families and children throughout the day between 2pm and 8pm. There will be live outdoor music in the on-site gazebo performed by Canadian Pat Reid and his Voyageurs, they will be playing a wide spectrum of Canadian music throughout the afternoon. Also performing will be Canadian Nick Fothergill doing originals and some classic Canadian songs.

There will food for sale as well as beer and mixed drinks and there will be a variety of arts and crafts tents.

The evening festivities commence at 9pm and will be held indoors at the adjacent community center. There will be an opening performance by the vocal/guitar duo Bailey and Goode followed by Wailin' Soul, one of Taiwan's most energetic foreign party bands.
晚上的演唱會於晚上9點在崇仁活動中心內展開。將由知名樂團Wailin’ Soul 和Bailey, Goode熱力開場。

Our goal is to bring a glimps of Canadian culture to share with the local community and also to offer a piece of home to the many Canadians working in Taichung
Should be a good event.
