The 48 Hour Film Project, the world's biggest and oldest timed filmmaking competition returns to Kaohsiung in 2012!
The concept is simple: you are assigned a character's name and occupation, a prop, a line of dialogue and then you randomly draw a film genre from a hat. Then, you have exactly 48 hours to write, film, edit and complete a 7-minute film!!
A panel of judges will choose winners in various categories (best director, best acting, etc.) and Kaohsiung's "Best Film" will win $20,000 NT, and move onto the global competition (116 other cities also host 48HFP events). The ten best films globally will be screened at The CANNES FILM FESTIVAL's short film corner, and the "Best 48 Hour Film" chosen from all these finalists will win the grand prize of $3000 US!!
