Never been to the pie shop, but my restaurant (The Bayou) is not too far away. We're on Minquan 2nd Rd #228 just down from yi shing Rd. It's about a two minute drive from Warner.

Pretty sure The Bayou is still in bidness....but I think they recently changed locations.

PM the guy to be sure. He's on the Forumosa every once in a while. Seems like a pretty good place.

This from another thread

EDIT: What time does it open, I've gone by a couple of times in the afternoon but it looked like it was closed.

I highly recommend The Bayou. Typical western style service, excellent food and a special attention to details that stands out in Kaohsiung. I have not been there very often because it's a fair drive from my place, but I wish I lived closer.

About the Pie Shop - that is a good restaurant with great service, and very large set meals for a decent price. Stick with the plain Jane cheesecake though.

About The Bayou - the food is merely okay and I find the atmosphere offputting. The lighting and paint feel cold and the place tries to pull off an affluent or high-class look but its food (and dare I say clientale?) is out of sync with that attempt.

There are better choices in Kaohsiung, if western fare is what you want.
Eh? What's the point?

Sorry you feel that way. We bust our ass everyday doing the best we can and judging by our business that has steadily grown over the years we must be doing something right. I guess the maxim “you can’t please them all” applies here. I also must admit that I never thought anyone would find red walls and warm lights 'cold'. But hey…

As to better western restaurants in town there are certainly many. Here are a few of my favorites.

Angus Bistro
Le Petite Château
La Scala
Green

Happy eating!
