Do you know if the breeder tests for the many genetic health issues that plague French bulldogs? That flat face is cute to some, but of course is something of a disability to the poor dog and often quite debilitating. And do you know what the breeder does with any pups that show signs of disease or not conforming to breed standard?

Yes they do test the pups for genetic problems, the pups have warranty if you could call it like that that there are no genetic problems on them... also if they find any problem with the pups that does not stop them from having a happy life they would still try to sell them for a lower price and they will make sure you understand what the problem is and what can you do about it... I think they were pretty good taking care of their pups and dogs so no complains on my side... and hey i loved my GR, I had him for 3 years and he was going to stay with me till his last day... too bad that day came too early as he didnt get to meet my son..

My neighbor in Sanzhi has a Belgian Shepherd. He's a stunning dog. Looks like a German Shepherd SHOULD look, without that ridiculous overbred short hind leg problem. From what I've read, that is the main difference - that they were largely unknown and "neglected" so allowed to continue breeding normally, rather than selectively to accentuate certain physical traits as has happened with the German Shepherds. People choose them as a healthier, hardier alternative.
Be interesting to see whether they're able to sustain their good breeding, with their new found popularity.

We had a Malinois back in Belgium and if you read the wiki - it is spot on. This dog can't sit still for long and needs a lot- a truthful lot - of activities. What is lesser known as publicized is that he is great with kids- as long as not being harassed as a poodle. Very loyal and protective of its family. We had a Labrador and a Irish setter but as true companion, Pastis was the best. Cried for weeks when he took off chasing rabbits and never came back.

As limited advice and far from the better insight ex animo can provide , I would import one from the US because this race must be extremely rare here - with it's obvious risks.

You would have to be a bit of a sadist to import a Malinois to an isle that is far removed from their natural habitat.
My advice would be DO NOT bring one here. It's hard, but one often must put the breed afore the questionable whim of a human.
Whose very entertaining of the idea shows even worse breeding.......

well the dog does not have lots of hair.. so it wont cook itself in summer.. besides that.. and IF YOU ARE ABLE TO GIVE HIM THE REQUIRED ATTENTION... then bring one and be happy !!
