I need help saving this dog's life!

A 13 year old mixed dog in Yinge was abused and neglected by its former owners. A sweet elderly lady took the dog in and tried to take care of him giving him much needed love. The elderly lady passed away recently and her niece took over the responsibility of caring for the dog. The dog has a barking habit that annoys the niece's neighbors. The dog got loose and snipped at one of the neighbors. The neighbor is threatening a lawsuit and wants the dog euthanized.

The niece is looking for a rescue shelter or loving new family that has the patience and ability to care for this dog in need. Any help the Forumosa community can offer would be GREATLY appreciated.

(It breaks my heart to see a dog blamed and condemned for its actions, when all its actions are the result of mistreatment by its owners. Its not the dog's fault, its those that neglected to properly care for it.)

It was a provoked "nip"...not really a bite. From the story I was told, the neighbor provoked the dog by hitting and teasing it. The current owner claims the neighbor exaggerated the extent of the "nip/bite" and was overly dramatic.
I appreciate any help you can give.

Will she consider a swap, whereby we take the difficult dog and they take one of our well-behaved ones?

On a side note, we have a 3 month old male chihuahua who would love a friend to socialize and play with. Do you have any puppies who won't grow too big? We would be very interested in adopting one.

We have nine ten-week-old pups, all from the same litter, but some smaller than others. Mother is a medium-sized (16 kg) tugou mix. There's no guarantee, but the smaller pups should be small adults too. If they grow up together, any size difference would not only make no difference to their friendship, but will also be a constant source of amusement for you.
