How to renew Taiwan passport?

hi everybody,

I am a taiwan-born male (1982) and left taiwan when I was 4 years old with a taiwan passport. since then, I've become an American citizen and obtained an American passport. I've also returned to Taiwan for vacation using my American passport many times. the last time my taiwan passport was renewed was around the late 1990s. I have since lost all old copies of my taiwan passports. I do not have any official taiwanese documents. i only have my American passport. I don't even have my naturalization certificate or birth certificate.

my question is this... how do i renew my taiwanese passport? what is the process that I need to go through? I'm willing to research but can anybody point me in the right direction on what to read?

If you are in US, you can call Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in major US cities and ask.

They answer in English or Chinese.

I let my ROC passport expired for many years, though I always kept it. So, it was no problem for me to go to their office and got mine renewed. My US born daughter got her Taiwan passport from them as well. Ask them what to do if you do not have your old one already.
