Many of you were helpful in the health exam area and I hope more will come. There have been references made to boot camp and hell and slavery. As this is obviously the next phase and respondents have raised these terms, similar info is helpful. We appreciate this so much.

I suggest that you watch the 1980's comedy: 報告班長：新兵報導 (Happy Days in the Army).
It captures the whole experience pretty accurately from getting the draft letter, medical checkup, to boot camp.

Word of warning: it is a romaticized view and is really cheesy.
