I have no legally-recognized family in Taiwan, and these topics have been weighing heavily on my mind of late.
I want to make a power of attorney document giving someone else the right to make medical decisions on my behalf in the event that I'm somehow incapable of doing so for myself. Does anyone know how to go about this? I don't even know where to begin.
I also want to write a will. I'm not rolling in money, but if something happens to me I'd like to think that my assets and my insurance will go to people I care about, rather than the state. Again, I have no idea where to start.
Any advice?

This was never answered and it's a question I need an answer to.
I'm in a relationship here, can't get married (legally), and my partner and I have been discussing this recently. He wants me to be able to make medical decisions for him because his family is rather loony. Is it possible for a Taiwanese to give medical power of attorney over to a foreigner?
