thanks ! But actually the version I heard had different lyrics and the title was something like " a toast to you of wine" . Pretty similar though.

This must be it:

For some reason, I was able to find recordings of this version by several singers but not Teresa.

SUPER THANKS FOR THAT. I've been looking for that for a long time. But knowing the title in Chinese but not being able to write it kept me from discovering that. Yes, for some reason I've always liked that song. And yeah, I don't recall Teresa ever singing this version.

This girl, fellow Taiwanese singer, Timi zhou sings a lot of Teresa's songs uber well. Here she is singing an old balad. I do miss these old balads :)

Anyone ever find out the name of the French boyfriend at the time of the Chiang Mai death? Paul X... I've googled a lot but found nothing... But I'm no Teresa Teng expert...

Seems to be well hidden. Only found that Paul is 15 years younger then Teresa was when they were dating. And she kept their relationship a bit undercover but supported him financially while he pursued a career as a photographer. Her family seemed to think her having a younger boyfriend wouldn't be well received and may have paid him off to keep quiet? Who knows.

But he seems to have been a (happy) footnote in her life. Not many singers get recognized at a State Funeral as she did.
