What if Jesus would walk amongst us today?

What if Jesus would walk amongst us today?

Postby Belgian Pie » 31 May 2009, 10:18

I'm not a religious person, should be tho but I declined ... anyways, from what I learned and according to a major bestseller book Jesus has done some good stuff in his lifetime ... but, imagine he would walk amongst us ...

Would he be a green guy, would he drive a car, recycle, clean his bathroom regularly ... I think you get my point ... add more if needed ... and, no offense to real religious Christians ...

He'd learn the error of his ways and convert to atheism.
You can live here and have a great life and not be the least bit into living the local life. Clowns will try to diss you for it saying you gotta get down with the program, but fuck em, treat this place like a buffet and yous be on a diet. What kind of car would he drive?! My big question is, "Would/Could he perform miracles?" If miracles were possible, why even bother with internal combustion?

Bippity Boppity Boo! All fixed!

Or maybe, for those who believe, (and I'm sure his physical presence, and a couple of well-performed and closely-watched miracles would increase his flock) there would be miracles.

Now, what display would convince most people of his powers? I can think of many things, but they would have to be much better than anything by Sai Baba, Kim Jong-il, or Davids Blaine and Copperfield.

Carve the Commandments on the side of El Capitan or Everest . . . Levitate all of humanity for 10 seconds as he told them, in a clear voice, what to do. Compared to creating the Universe, these would be easy and convincing.

If he could perform miracles, maybe his time would be spent doing a million miracles a day . . . or just one really big one. I can't see people today being impressed by him cleaning his own room or doing good carpentry until they were sure of his godliness.

So, I think he'd best serve his time by first doing some miracles. Then, I think he'd have some explaining and teaching to do.

------

Just a question . . . I don't want to hijack the thread . . . When was the last miracle performed? . . . I wonder how many of you believe that miracles still regularly occur, how many of you think they are a thing of the past, and how many of you think they never happened?

Woody Guthrie wrote:Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ was a man who traveled through the land
A hard-working man and brave
He said to the rich, "Give your money to the poor"
But they laid Jesus Christ in his grave

Jesus was a man, a carpenter by hand
His followers true and brave
One dirty little coward called Judas Iscariot
Has laid Jesus Christ in his grave

He went to the preacher, He went to the sheriff
He told them all the same
"Sell all of your jewelry and give it to the poor"
And they laid Jesus Christ in his grave.

When Jesus come to town, all the working folks around
Believed what he did say
But the bankers and the preachers, they nailed him on the cross,
And they laid Jesus Christ in his grave.

And the people held their breath when they heard about his death
Everybody wondered why
It was the big landlord and the soldiers that they hired
To nail Jesus Christ in the sky

This song was written in New York City
Of rich man, preacher, and slave
If Jesus was to preach what he preached in Galilee,
They would lay poor Jesus in his grave.

He would shake his head, and walk away.
