Is it possible to rent a good bike with a child seat?

Well, I'm sure many of you know that I'm looking for a new bike but, as part of ongoing negotiations with my fiancee, I wanted to go spend a day on a decent bike with my son onboard to make sure it's an enjoyable experience for the whole family.

We were going to do this on the four day weekend and called Giant of Hualian to look into our options. But apparently, with a child seat, there are no options. They say the don't do that. I'm curious if it's for safety/liability reasons or they just dont carry the right kinds of bikes.

Am I going to run into this problem everywhere or does anyone know where I could rent a decent bike (like, say at least a decent Giant/Merida etc. hybrid or MTB) with a child seat on it?

Renting a piece of crap rusty old kid's MTB that has the chain fall off every ten minutes (which seems to be what I always ended up with in the past) is not really a help in my purchasing decision.

Any options?
