Gay people outside of Taibei?

Postby Jialin » 04 Mar 2012, 12:51

I'm hoping to end up teaching in Taibei this summer but in case I end up elsewhere in Taiwan, where should I hope to be after Taipei? I assume Gaoxiong and Taizhong are the next best places? Which are better and why? What kinds of differences are there? Thanks so much!!

If you want gay nightlife, or a wider social circle, Taipei is your only choice. And really, it's Taipei, and Kaohsiung, and Taichung. First level cities maintain their legacy spellings. This really isn't about you.
“Everywhere else in the world is also really old” said Prof. Liu, a renowned historian at Beijing University. “We always learn that China has 5000 years of cultural heritage, and that therefore we are very special. It appears that other places also have some of this heritage stuff. And are also old. Like, really old.”

You could probably meet gay men who are married to women outside of Taipei-I meet them all the time and they wish I was gay.

Two or three gay clubs in Taidong. One of the top two places to dance or hang out for drinks with friends is owned by a gay couple. I think the name is Music Pub. And at least one more gay club there also.

If you're into exciting sex activities, such as meeting casual partners and have a reasonably good time, There are 2 gay baths in both Tai-Chung and Kaohsiung, categorized either by age range or body type. Both gay baths provides free condoms and regular HIV/Syphilis blood test on a weekly basis. Both offer free anonymous HIV rapid test on a monthly basis as well.
