GLBT rights in the US (and Taiwan?) - Let's meet

Postby QuietMountain » 24 Aug 2004, 10:02

I'm looking for other members of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) here in Taiwan or Americans interested in supporting the glbt community in the US (as I'm American and HRC is an American organization). If you are a member of HRC, or are interested in being a member of HRC, or just support glbt rights, please pm me. I'd like to start a "meet-up" group of sorts to talk about what we can do from Taiwan to help the glbt community in the US.

You do not need to be glbt to be a member of HRC. Nor, is it/will it be a requirement that you be glbt to be a member of this group I'm envisioning. You just have to be interested in supporting the US glbt community.

Information on the Human Rights Campaign is below...

ALSO I'd be interested in meeting up with anyone who is interested in supporting the glbt community here in Taiwan -- e.g., what can we do to support our glbt friends & family here in Taiwan, encourage a more open society, etc...

FINALLY I would ask anyone who is in opposition to the glbt community (and you know who you are) not to flame this thread. You are welcome to your opinions and beliefs about homosexuality, etc... But, I'm not looking for and will not engage in a debate. Please keep this thread from getting pulled down to the depths of childish name calling, etc... Thanks.

About HRC

The Human Rights Campaign, the largest national gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender advocacy organization, envisions an America where GLBT people are ensured of their basic equal rights, and can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community. HRC has close to 600,000 members
