Really? The north is melting at a greater rate than ever. Pretty soon the permafrost will be boggy soil. Coincidence? I think not.
“Everywhere else in the world is also really old” said Prof. Liu, a renowned historian at Beijing University. “We always learn that China has 5000 years of cultural heritage, and that therefore we are very special. It appears that other places also have some of this heritage stuff. And are also old. Like, really old.”

Looks close to passage in New York, but may still be one vote short in the traditionally more conservative State Senate:

If I, as a US citizen, want to apply for Canadian citizenship, my partner and I are treated like a couple just like any other couple. Only one of us needs to qualify to get the other citizenship. Also, if I marry a Canadian, it's treated as any other marriage and I can immigrate. Canada rocks! And for all of those who are worried about all the nonsense the right spouts out, you can look at Canada and see their society has not experienced thermal meltdown! Hockey watching, beer guzzling canucks live happily beside butch, hockey hair having lesbians. It's a thing of beauty.

Except for that hair, of course!

Barry Goldwater, Hey, good enough for Barry, good enough for me.

Besides, I think my gay buddies should have to suffer along with the rest of us, you married guys know what I mean. :wall:

Excellent video.

"I don't know where the sun beams end and the star light begins. It's all a mystery." Flaming Lips

"a man's position here is not ruled so much by what he can earn as by what he can owe and still remain at large." Letters of a Shanghai Griffin

"It's called the American dream because you have to be asleep to believe it." George Carlin

The American oligarchy spares no pains in promoting the belief that it does not exist, but the success of its disappearing act depends on equally strenuous efforts on the part of an American public anxious to believe in egalitarian fictions and unwilling to see what is hidden in plain sight.

Second of all, as in all honeymoons, all is well until it is not. It is until the unexpected happens that you will see all grievances surface -ask anyone in any relationship. The girl can chew with her mouth open, that if you love her, you do not care. If you do not lover her, if her pinkie toe is half an inch deviant, the relationship is doomed. - Icon

good quote from hizzoner mayor bloomberg here:

Mr. Bloomberg, addressing concerns of religious leaders, said: “I happen to think very strongly that this is not a religious thing. Religious organizations should have every right to decide who they want to marry, whether they want to permit alcohol. Religions do a lot of different things. This is the government, and the government should be separate from religion.”

That George Reekers guy sounds like one despicable human being.

Now for a positive note on the gay rights front:
