worst experience trying to purchase a tuxedo... minor shop incident

Me and my fiancee walk into a small men's store displaying suits, one of which happens to be a tuxedo. Since the shop was fairly small they had a large bookshelf of fashion photo books. OK, no problem as I just left another store down the block and was willing to go through the photos to find something. I was price shopping, quality shopping around.
Never got the opportunity.

The following happened: The shopkeeper was in a conversation with an older man - finishing up the sale with invoices. I was quietly waiting patiently for maybe a minute... when he spoke in Mandarin asking what are we looking for? a Tuxedo. His answer was the following - we have tuxedos but you cant try them on. We have photos of tuxedos but we cant show you them. I got super pissed - then how the hell does anyone shop for anything in your store? It was obvious he didnt want to deal with a foreigner. First experience of this in Taiwan. Ximending area.

No worries, found a fantastic professional shop elsewhere.

First time in a proper tailor shop, eh? Never mind. Why the HELL would you want to "try on" a bespoke suit made for somebody else? You waited for a WHOLE! MINUTE! In a fricking TAILOR shop? Jesus! Just go to Carrefour, dude. More your style, I'm thinking.

Excuse me, reading comprehension is not your finer point, trolling internet forums... perhaps yes. I was not complaining about the time waiting if I mentioned the words "quietly waiting"... did I use any words authoring frustration for my wait? NO.
Does the store say anywhere... that its a custom tailor shop... when there were clearly 4 racks of suits on display... with price tags.

Actually, Costco is not a bad place to buy jeans. Their jeans are cheap, name-brand, and come in pretty large sizes. Since they have a no-questions-asked, no-conditions return policy, I just buy them and if they don't fit I bring them back the following time I go in. Not the most convenient procedure, but its a warehouse ferchrisakes! Costcos back home don't have fitting rooms either.

Btw: Kirkland jeans are cut for old fogeys.

Actually, Costco is not a bad place to buy jeans. Their jeans are cheap, name-brand, and come in pretty large sizes. That's great, but there isn't a Costco in Jiayi. The closest one is in Tainan and I sure as hell won't go all the way there to return a pair of jeans.

P.S. I don't buy Kirkland jeans!
