1930s, Guy hits his wife and friends take him out back, kill him and dump his car in a stream. They run a BBQ stand and the cops that come to investigate end up eating the ribs (evidence) I cant recall the name. Hell, Im getting old.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101921/ and it looks like the Chinese title is a direct translation, which is unusual. By the way, a friend recently told me that the original novel, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, by Fannie Flagg, is also an amazing book.
