1) Please search  before posting. Note that you should also search content-relevant forums (like Food & Drink for those items, and not just WCIF). If there is a content-relevant forum, the thread should be there, not here.

2) Please append your request to an existing thread if you find a stale one, rather than starting a new one.

3) Please post separately  for each search item, not one thread for "olives and sour cream". Two threads, one for each. This makes it much easier for the moderator to merge your thread with an existing one, if any.

Of course, if you still can't find what you're looking for, please do feel free to post, and we'll do our very best to help you find what you need. If you have any trouble using the search function or the forum, please don't hesitate to send a PM (private message) to the Where Can I find...? moderator asking for help. Happy posting!!! :rainbow:

Maybe, most probably not, but still worth a look. Thank you for the heads up. Will check it out.

Did you notice if it was a Japanese brand, like Tomica or US like Matchbox?

No, I was more interested in the paint job of model cars, and did look at some thoroughly, but I just realized that I did not check the brand at all when you asked.

Do you know about paint for model cars? Because the ones that are not black are cheaper, so, if I can paint it and it doesn't look too ugly it'll do. Is it too dificult?

Well usually for metal miniature models, they usually use airbrush with special equipment. Anything other than that would look unprofessional. Check the tw yahoo auctions by the way, it's more used in Taiwan, maybe even more than e-bay.

Yep, ruten, yahoo. As said, though, classical cars are not their cup of tea, but you never know. But even ebay is limited. Talking about painting, found one the guy painted the insides blue. Bright, fluorescent blue. :loco:

BTW, I've been told about a secret place for people "in the know". I'll check it out and if it turns out kosher, I'll put it up here. :saywhat:

Got the place. Very impressive collection of military models, if you are into that, plus a few Star Wars, Star Trek. Car selection was small, but planes was OK. Nanning Road Number 60, close to the intersection with Hoping West Road section 3, at the end of the Bird Street. Prices were more than reasonable. Will go back.

There is a model car shop by my apartment - you can see it on streetview here:

Thank you! Always ready to check out a new place. I am amazed it has a name in English.
Address: Xinyi Road, section 5, alley 150, lane 14, number 12. Model Car Expo.

Battery, it is not how big the store is, but how they manage to pile up the stuff. :roflmao:

EDIT:
Well, the place is big but not huge, I mean, about the same size as the one in Taipei Mall. Furthermore, it combines living and business quaters, so it is a bit messy. Well, after the military place, that was impecably squeaky clean and everything filed accordingly, I maybe got the wrong impression. :D Probably the ones at Ximending are bigger, but as they are even messier, things are harder to find.

Anyways, it is the most varied I've seen so far, but, alas, also lacking in the classic department. It is dedicated completely to cars, with only 2 planes sneaked in. It carries Japanese and European model cars, trucks, motorcycles, scooters. It's got Harley's, Hot Wheels, etc. And exotic Taiwanese, if anyone wants a Luxgen model, only for Taiwan.

This weekend I tried to find the airplane model place that was close to Tai-Da, at the end of Fuxing Road, by the Xinhai university entrance. Alas, it is there no more. Well, it was pretty expensive anyways... sour grapes!

BTW, next week there is a toy expo, the Taipei Toy and Children's Articles Fair at the Taipei World Trade Center. I'll try my best to have a look.

There is also the Taipei Toy Festival, which looks really more interesting, also next week: http://home.pmo.com.tw/pmo/monster/
