Discussions about how to find those things that are not immediately obvious

Forum rules
1) Please search  before posting. Note that you should also search content-relevant forums (like Food & Drink for those items, and not just WCIF). If there is a content-relevant forum, the thread should be there, not here.

2) Please append your request to an existing thread if you find a stale one, rather than starting a new one.

3) Please post separately  for each search item, not one thread for "olives and sour cream". Two threads, one for each. This makes it much easier for the moderator to merge your thread with an existing one, if any.

Of course, if you still can't find what you're looking for, please do feel free to post, and we'll do our very best to help you find what you need. If you have any trouble using the search function or the forum, please don't hesitate to send a PM (private message) to the Where Can I find...? moderator asking for help. Happy posting!!! :rainbow:

Chinese (opera) mask

Postby Jagienka » 15 Aug 2012, 13:29

I'm looking for a place to buy a chinese-style mask, like an opera mask or "totem mask". It's just a souvenir, so I'd like to keep it rather cheap (up to 700-800 TWD, if it's possible), I'm not looking for anything authentic. I have no idea where to look; costume shops, souvenirs shops, flea market? I'd appreciate any hints - especially ones with detailed location, since I don't know my way around Taipei. Thank you.

Also, my first post here, hello! ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ

National Palace Museum Gift Shop.
Rauho St. Night Market.
That National Handicrafts Gift Shop down by Tai-Da Hospital (is that right?)
"Got to hurry back to my hotel room
Where I got me a date with a pretty little girl from Split"

"If you can't have God, at least have some respect.."

I wouldn't stay under there too long, that's where the pigs shit.

If you go to RauHo St, look for a bigassed Taoist folk worship gift shop on the south (ish) side near the Temple end (not the Bade Rd end), they got all kinds of that crap there, very tourist friendly.
Buddy will probably cut you a discount if you get a bunch of stuff.
