When I park at Raohe night market at Bade just east of Jilong Rd., the best parking spot is often near a 10$ store and a packing materials / hardware store just across Bade from the western end of the night market (where the bronze owls are, not where the temple is). There are signs for such a shop right by the packing materials store, but I've never actually seen the shop (it's not a streetfront shop), so I imagine it's tucked inside the building somewhere. I don't remember if the sign was in Chinese but you might need to be able to read Chinese in order to follow the directions on the sign to find the shop.

In Chinese, sex shops are called 情趣用品店 qingqu yongpin dian.

There's one on the corner of Minsheng West Road and ?? Street (midway between Chengde Road and Ningxia Road where the night market is). There's a police station on the other corner. Nearest MRT: Shuanglian. I did go in there once and bought a supply of cheap, government-approved condoms.

There's another shop nearby that specialises in bondage gear. It's on the west side of Chengde Road just south of the Minsheng West Road junction. You can spot it easily at night as it has a kind of orange fake flame thingy over the doorway.

And there are plenty more around. A lot of vibrators and the like are made either in Taiwan or in Taiwanese-owned factories in China.

I was at Taipei county, Fu Ren catholic university and in that area, there was like a bit of porn dvd shops. haha, i dunno, just wanna say that. never been inside tho. I think that place is shing zwong.

Go to The Taipei City Hall Station MRT, take exit 3 and walk up Zhongxaio road away from the downtown area. You will pass a firestation, then on your side of the road there are a lot of shops. There is a sex shop right in there, not too far down. Not sure about the actual quality, or seediness of the place, but see it when I'm out for walks. They have outfits and toys right in the window, so your... friend... should be able to find what they are looking for there.
