Notary Public in Taiwan (only at court houses? )

Postby Taiwan_Student » 17 Apr 2012, 15:05

I need to get a document notarized for AIT. They said that any local Notary would do and she suggested the court. I live so far in the boonies that a trip to he capital still means that my wife would have to take reschedule miss her classes just to have a stupid document signed.

(The consent form granting the husband pemission to apply for passports their children without her presence because her schedule could not really be changed in the first place).

We have everything in our small city the small city where she works including tax offices, health departments, hospitals.. Wouldn't there be a Notary in one of those institutions. Can personal people be Notaries like in the states? Our two cites are Dong Gan and Fanglio.

Notaries are not only in courthouses.

I do not know your area, so cannot help you. But we got documents notarized here in Taichung at a Notary Public and it was not in a courthouse...it was a special office designated just for notarization in an office building.
