20 vs. 10 posts per page

Postby scomargo » 29 Jun 2012, 11:51

I noticed that each page now has 20 posts on it instead of 10 posts like it used to be. This happened right around the same time engerim fixed the lack of the edit function for superking. I'm not sure if it's related or not.

I don't actually mind having 20 posts per page instead of 10, but I think it would hurt advertising revenue for the site. Also, it is confusing for some users to suddenly see the number of pages in a thread being cut in half.

I just thought I should mention this.

It was done to reduce bandwidth.
You can live here and have a great life and not be the least bit into living the local life. Clowns will try to diss you for it saying you gotta get down with the program, but fuck em, treat this place like a buffet and yous be on a diet. Take what you want and nothing extra, slam those oysters, but leave the bread sticks and dinner rolls behind. - Deuce Dropper

 Good approach. Since doing this , my pages are loading quicker -on all browsers. A tangible improvement.
Now revising the new members policy reducing spammers as potential trollers and I predict this site to live longly after we are all gone

Thanks for the explanation. I had just thought that it might have been accidentally changed.

I actually like the new layout better, even if it means Forumosa is serving fewer ads than before.
