Newbies first impressions

Postby Spykey » 20 Feb 2012, 00:04

No matter what you you say in an already open Thread or if you start a new Thread there is always some bugger ... sorry member trying to knock you down....WHY?

Constructive Criticism is always welcome but what some members do will really put guests off from joining and members posting.

Please consider the effects of what you post,

Must..Not...Troll..Oh who am I kidding!

We don't care and you're not a unique beautiful snowflake. HTFU

Now get down on your knees and thank Jesus that Sandman doesn't post. Newbies hated him above all others.

Welcome to Forumosa btw, we're a nice bunch especially at the happy hours.

There are assholes intermingled with awesome people everywhere. Dunno if the assholes are more vocal or its just that their words stand out. F.com is the same.

25 posts and the OP is still around... not a newbie. Flob is a bit corrosive because the 'wan is a bit corrosive... the beautiful architecture, the well-planned cities with such logical land-use zoning, the respect for traffic laws, and yet, there are moments.... like flob.

They are just trying to toughen you up so you can survive here. One day you'll thank them. When I arrived I was pink and tender like a delicate cherry blossom. Thanks to the likes of Snadman, I now have a hide as thick as a rhinoceros and callouses on my bum.

If you think you got it hard, try being Tommy for a day. For 10 years I've watched him being knocked down, kicked in the guts and sometimes banned, but he comes back day after day for another round. :bravo:

Plus many of the posters reply while under the influence of alcohol, which in turn aggravates the more charming aspects of their personality, being characterized as old farts -really old ones, most of the lot. In real life, sober, they are lovely, I assure you, and will give an arm and a leg to help you. Late at night, after a day of working in this mad, Alice's other side of the mirror mini cosmos we like to call Taiwan, and half a bottle in, that is another story. Talk about the school of hard knocks!

If any new arrival needs assistance in Taipei, I can provide it in exchange for Star Trek or Supernatural (the TV series) stuff or other sci-fi materials. Let me know what help you need by PM, along with what you have to offer in return. And yes, I am serious.

What?? this forum is TAME
people here are so friendly and helpful - I've been helped out on so many occasions. As a newbie, esp.

Problem is that a lot of newbies do not search before posting, write like shite poorly (the OP here has not even noticed the to yous in 'is/'er first sentence - not checking before posting a complaint!) and expect everyone to be so nice to them! They don't get the *bump* thing either.

I totally agree with you. There are a lot of dickheads on Forumosa who enjoy pissing on other people and their POV's. This is why a lot of people don't bother with Forumosa any more - or do so less and less - except sporadically or to find something out for practical purposes.
