Report a post and get AN EMAIL???

I dislike the word sq***l. Whenever I read or hear sq***l, it takes me a couple of hours to clear that ridiculous banjo tune out of my head. I think you should use squawk instead. Squawk has force, it has substance, it has heft, it has virtu.

I also think the mods should send telegrams to squawkers. I've never squawked before, but if I ever did squawk, I'd want to receive a telegram for squawking. Telegrams are classy, and they make good collector's items. And telegraphy is a dying art and a priceless cultural heirloom that ought to be preserved for the enjoyment and edification of posterity. Telegrams have charm-at-depth, they have inherent magic, they have duende.

Coming back on my previous response.

I reported a potential troller whom posted 4 to 6 new threads for wich answers could be found on the site. No replies on his own OP's yet.
Now, getting an email that the report is closed is fine, but getting a response mentionning " the email has been deleted" worries me.

Does this means the responsible 2 mods didn't give a shit and prefered purging my heads-up or would they still look into the matter?

I saw one from you in Technology regarding a PC gaming thread which you suggested to merge with an existing thread, it had a couple of replies though. Not sure this is the one you are referring to.

I also got a PM from the same poster asking about gaming, I think he was quite genuine. I sent him/her a reply and mentioned the proposed merge, which this morning they agreed with, so I went ahead with the merge. I didn't think it was so urgent that immediate action was necessary and there's no reason not to be polite and let people know why their thread that they started is going to be merged and the report you made wasn't closed until after the merge.

But I appreciate the report, as I do from any poster who has an issue, I do read and if I decided not to act, I would have sent you a PM explaining why no action was taken.

You are most welcome. Also sometimes in these cases, especially if the posts look to have disappeared, almost certainly the following 2 things happened.

1. The post(s) were moved to "Suspended Spammers and Spam (with spam)" forum, should we at a later date need to reference them.

2. The user was banned indefinitely.

Unfortunately, and as the need for a forum dedicated for this purpose suggest, we do get quite a few of them. But certainly appreciate any and all help we can in keeping these bad boys out of here.

SS & S forum? I learned something new - thus as it is not on the board index , it is not public no?
So if a post is a proven spam, it should in theory not end up in Temp - correct?

Correct, not seen, a forum for garbage, perhaps if a poster protested they weren't actually spamming, it might be interesting, but I've yet to hear of such a case.
