Asking what the hours are is a no no?

Postby bigduke6 » 14 May 2012, 13:53

So, I want to change jobs for various reasons.

I go and post on a few websites and get about 4 schools contacting me so far.
All say, looking for teacher asap, or in July. Please send CV.
So I mail them back and ask what the available hours are? I do this simply not to waste their time, and more importantly, mine. Not prepared to drive 45 minutes to a school for a few hours a week.
I also think it is a reasonable question.

Never hear from them again.
So, are they just resume fishing like KNS, or is there some other reason?

Beats me?

Jesus Quintana: You said it, man. Nobody fucks with the Jesus.

Mr.Lahey: The shitabyss!
Randy: Mr. Lahey, not another night of the shitabyss, please?!
Mr.Lahey: Ah, fuck it.

I do some consulting here and some clothing business out of China.

I have always done some teaching as well though. My mornings are generally free as my main customers are 6 hours behind.

The schools seem to all be fishing!

Local employers don't like anyone who asks questions or rocks the boat. What seems like a fair question to us is mafan to them. :2cents:

They've gotten used to desperation, I guess. If you're not desperate enough to take ANY hours, you likely wouldn't want to work for them anyway.
