Overseas Travel Form? Ever hear of this one?

Postby Sakuralisa » 27 Jun 2012, 11:50

Hi everyone,

We work in an elementary school here in Taipei, Taiwan.
The boss has asked us to fill out a form stating all kinds of information about any overseas travel we plan to do.
They are saying that this is required by the government and that all teachers are required to fill out a form like this.
None of us have ever heard of such a thing!
Have you ever heard of this? Did your school ask you to do this? What do you make of this?

It's quite common for schools and universities who pay teachers over the summer vacation. I have no idea whether it is a legal requirement (and seriously doubt that it is), but it is a case of the employer keeping an eye on where his paid employee goes. Quite a few of them have been stung by teachers taking the July/August pay and then not showing up for the new term in September. As usual, the majority of us have to deal with the fallout from the bad behaviour of a few.
