Any Greek restaurants in Taipei?

Postby lostinasia » 27 Jun 2011, 20:18

Does anyone know about any Greek food in Taipei? Preferably good Greek food?

Sorry if this thread already exists. I did find threads about...

Mykonos: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=89045
New Mykonos: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=34354
Mykonos Taverna: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=4368
Truva (Turkish, actually): viewtopic.php?f=39&t=41557

... but it seems like all the Greek restaurants discussed in those links have closed down or disappeared.

The parents of a student of mine have a Greek restaurant. Still open for business. I've been once, but thought the food was too salty.

The "googlemaps" tag needs just the two coordinates:

Well, a greek in taipei... gotta try that, thanks for the mentioning!

Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condemn.

And in the morning
We will remember them

I stopped by there to pick up lunch today. It's right around the corner from me, and this thread got me curious.
I got the gyros, and took them takeaway. I liked the look of the place, and they have a pretty big menu, with a wide range of dishes (ie. it's not just gyros, souvlaki, and Greek salads). I found the gyros pretty meh. Not too salty :) , but they could definitely have used some sauce (maybe you get some tzaziki or something if you dine in rather than takeaway? I hope so). Not bad, but not too exciting. Next time I want a wrap-like thing, I'll probably be heading around the corner to Sababa or over to Tacos2go.
I may go back some day for a full meal though, since they have moussaka...

Bump

Aside from the allegedly overly salty restaurant mentioned above, are there any decent places in town?

Greek food is supposed to be salty.
If you find me a nice cheep apartment with a good kitchen I'll cook you a Greek meal :P persuading me to not put salt in takes more effort though.
