Deja Vu by Jay Chou at Huashan

Jay Chou is the singer/actor from Taiwan popular in the region. Recently co-starred in the recent "Green Hornet" movie.

This is one experience and might be different for others previously or in the future. Had dinner here recently. Amazing atmosphere. He has an original bat mobile car, some exotic motorcycle, gothic castle like interior design, a stage, etc.

While the atmosphere is unique and special for Taiwan, the food is less so. Had dinner with about 10 friends. It was disappointing and slow. The rice dishes had hard rice in them. Can you imagine? Rice is a staple in Taiwan and yet they can't get the rice dishes right? The pizza was thin and tastes like cardboard. Actually cardboard probably has more flavor.

Service was slow. Asked for a coke, had to get up and walk to bar and ask again, at which point they refused to give me a coke and said they would bring to my table... still took another 5 minutes at which point my pizza was cold and feeling thirsty.

After ordering both cake and ice cream around the tables, waited, waited, stared at each other, waited, wondered if we actually placed the order, then finally it comes out sporadically...

The live keyboard player music was extremely depressing.

Go for the atmosphere, forget about the food.

I agree. I ate there about a month ago and the food is very so-so. I think they spent their money on the car and motorcycle and skimped on the chef. The fillet steak was just ok as was a basic pasta dish. I heard that they also have a magician wandering around the tables but luckily he wasn't performing when I was there.

We left after the mains and went to Alleycat's next door for dessert, coffee, Caprese salad, and Hoegaarden. Much better experience and value there.
Endeavour to dance a dance not yet named.

Make love your goal not your gaol.
