Afternoon Chinese and Japanese Lessons.

Postby Scottish_Alex » 07 Jun 2012, 00:08

Hello,

I am looking to improve my Mandarin and Japanese speaking skills while working in Taiwan but all the places I seem to find on google are either summer schools or £2500 for 10 lessons! I am just looking for a few hours a week that wont cast me more than £100 a week, anyone know any places or would one 2 one tutor be a better idea?

You could go to Time International Language Center for Japanese (but, it's taught using Mandarin, if you are a beginner!). Locations all over Taipei: http://www.tilc.tw/

For Chinese, the cheapest place to learn is at the Mandarin Daily News (in Taipei on Roosevelt Road): http://enroll.mdnkids.com/ChineseCourses/

You could go to NTNU (師範大學) to learn Chinese, but that's a full-time commitment, and concomitantly more expensive.

A private tutor might charge you something as low as $400 NT per hour!

Check out Chinese Culture University (wenhua daxue). They have one hour elective classes in the afternoons that are reasonably priced.

The language center is located across the street from Da'an Park.
