All you need to do to eat well in Taiwan is cook heaps of veges from the cheap traditional markets (or organic shops which are everywhere), chicken and other meat is cheap, brown rice is a dodle with the rice steamers here, and for extra protein have egg whites-I get through 5 a day because they're so cheap-3-4nt$ each for an egg. That's your base, and add extra things like cheeses, breads, nuts, fruits from the amazing shops everywhere around.
I can point you in the right direction for protein powder, or contact Formosa Fitness, or maybe there's some at Costco.
Servio:
You need to exercise harder.
Eat:
Breakfast, 3 egg whites, cereal with fruit and protein powder and a sandwich
2 normal meals. Save the milk for a snack mid afternoon.
Late supper, vege/chicken soup / broth
Problem solved.

I think this is great advice. I have dropped tons of weight since coming to Taiwan and wasn't even trying! My weight loss really slowed down and almost stopped recently for about 3 months (though I gained nothing back) so I have started exercising.
My meals:
breakfast: 2 eggs and white rice
lunch: either soup with veggies and noodles, or some BOILED veggie dumplings with some frozen meat thrown in and some white rice
dinner: fresh veggies, a meat in some bottled sauce and of course, white rice
I do eat the same thing pretty much everyday, which does get boring, but it sees to be working for the weight control. On Friday nights (and sometimes Saturday for lunch or dinner) I eat wtf ever I want and drink coke too...but ONLY fri night and a meal on saturday.
Its super easy to lose weight in Taiwan as long as you don't eat night market or fast food.
