NHI Refund?

Last year (2011), around October I got a call from someone who said they were from the NHI. I believe they spoke to me in English.

I was told that I was due some refund on my years of paying into the NHI. I forgot why.

I was told that around 20K was possible as a refund for those who had been resident for a long time.

Has anyone had a call like this?

I lost the number the original lady gave me, so I called the NHI (Tainan office, probably a mistake) and the person I talked too was clueless. She told me it was probably a prank call. Anyways, has anyone heard of this?

If it's true I wouldn't mind it.

It seems unlikely to have been real. NHI isn't taking in enough money to cover costs and so probably isn't handing out money.

They asked for your details, bank account ... and you had to pay a small administrative fee up front?
