Ask your pharmacist for Zantac. About NT$90-$150 for a sheet of 10. One a day keeps the acid away!

That's the stomachin. I keep a can around for hangovers and such. If you want though, I'd be happy to look into bringing Tum's or whatever you want in. I'm placing a new order with the US supplier next Monday. Let me know.

Okay, I'm interested in Tums. Maximum strength Ultra, chewable, fruit flavoured. As I've just had some that a colleague got from America. Problem is they're not as effective as Rennies. Can't we get Rennies? Do they have them in HK? I'm getting kind of desparate.

Just wanted to share a sure fire home remedy with you. Baking soda and water provides the best instant relief. 1 cup of water and one teaspoon of baking soda(also called soda powder). For extreme case just add more balking soda.

Sorry to bump and old thread. But does Taipei have TUMS yet or Calcium Carbonate antacid?
I looked at the antacids at Watson, but none that I saw were Calcium Carbonate based.
My personal stash of TUMS from the US is about to run out.

Edit: Other brands of Calcium Carbonate based antacids are like Dicarbosil, Rolaids, Titralac, etc.

PapaAzucar, forget about Watsons when it comes to medicine, OK, unless it is Panadol. It is not as well supplied as a common neighborhood pharmacy when it come sto the real stuff and real aches.

Go to Shanghai Pharmacy and get Toopal. Tums is not available in Taiwan, though some of us manage to smuggle a bottle or so sometimes. Ask the pharmacist for other recommendations.

I have found that in the absence of Tums (if I run out of what I bring back from Canada), Gelusil or Gelusil Plus work great, just as effective. That Stomachin stuff works too but tastes nasty as all hell. I can barely put that stuff down the hatch without gagging.
