Please check your spelling, because someone may do a text search for your information, e.g. if someone searches for information on Xizhi and you have spelled it She Jher, they won't find it. Someone spelled camping as "campin" without a g at the end - again, it can't be found by a text search. For place names in Taiwan, please try to use Hanyu Pinyin as default, as that is the spelling most people know.
Please place links in your posts to sources of information. If you don't know how to hotlink text, click on the BBCode tips link in my signature to find out.
If you find a thread that is so hopelessly out of date that it couldn't be of use to anyone, please send the moderator a private message (with the URL of the thread)
If you spot two or more threads that you think could be merged, again, alert the moderator

One day travel

People, I'll be leaving soon, and would like to enjoy a bit more of Taiwan. Any suggestions? I haven't gone any far from Taipei (I would like to leave Taipei for one day)... Is anyone also available to join me, hehe?

Are you talking about a day trip? Where you leave and come back in one day?
Heres a few suggestions (depends on your interest and how much money you have to blow of course). In no particular order:
1. High Speed Rail to and back from Kaohsiung. Visit the attractions in that city. Shizewan beach, monkey mountain there, etc.
2. High Speed Rail to and back from Taichung. Taichung is a nice city worth a day trip.
3. Train to and from Hualian with a side visit to Taroko gorge . Or better, fly there and take the train back. Make bookings in advance.
4. Train to Zhongli, then bus to Shimen Dam. Theres a hour long cheap boat ride you can take on top (if still there) and its nice to walk down the side of the dam to the bottom and back up (great exercise).
5. Day trip to and from Yeliu and Keelung (Jilong). Worth a day trip.
6. Take the train to Su'ao and a bus to Nanfang'ao to visit Taiwan's largest fishing port and eat some great seafood at fair prices. Stop by on the way back at Jiaoxi and take in a hot spring hotel .

I would recommend against Taichung. Taichung sucks. But the other suggestions are good.
Another daytrip option is Jiufen and Jinguashi (by bus from Zhongxiao/Fuxing).
