Football/Soccer in Taichung

Postby thenotee » 04 May 2012, 17:56

Hi everyone, first post.

Moving to live in Taichung in August and just wondering what the football (soccer) scene is like in Taiwan in general.

I play at a fairly good level and was wondering if there are leagues available for non-professionals to join or local teams etc.

Do these exist over there?

Thanks ! :)

There are currently 3 foreign football (soccer) teams in Taichung. The longest-running (and, in my opinion, the best!) side is Compass Taichung FC. You can check out our website at and get in touch with them at We have matches most weekends and regularly play other foreign and local sides, as well as tournaments.

There are open Wednesday-night kick-arounds 8-10 p.m. each week (weather permitting) for foreigners who are serious about football and this is also a good way to get acquainted with everyone and, hopefullly, link up with a team.
