I am a US citizen and recently married my wife (Taiwanese citizen).
I am seeking to obtain a permanent ARC in Taiwan.
However, one of the main documents needed is a marriage certificate from my home country.
I have not lived in the United States for quite some time, and all the laws regarding marriage in different states are different.
I know that the US legally recognizes my marriage here in Taiwan.
How do I go about obtaining a document issued by the US confirming that my marriage is legally recognized in the US?
Do I have to bring my wife to the US in order to obtain this document?
Can an affidavit be signed at the AIT and then be confirmed by the Taiwanese government?
I'm just so lost as to how to obtain a marriage certificate from the US having been married abroad here in Taiwan.
Any help or direction would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Ideally you should ask the Taiwan authorities for a sample of the document (or TYPE OF DOCUMENT) being requested . . . . . so that (at the minimum) you can ascertain the issuing agency.
