does a dual UK/US citizen have to give up both prior to getting ROC citizenship?
my co-worker's sister is a UK citizen.... both parents are UK citizens at time of her birth.
she was born in the USA(New Jersey, to be exact) she never applied for a US passport
because her parent went back to the UK when she was only a few months old.
she married a Taiwanese citizen a couple of years ago and plan to move to Taiwan in
the near future. If she decides to become a Taiwanese citizen, she will obviously have
to give up her UK citizenship, right? What about her US citizenship? Since she was
born in the US, she should probably have no problems getting a US passport.(even if
she never done it in her entire life)
Okay... let's say she gives up her UK citizenship and becomes a Taiwan citizen.... wait
a few years.... can she still go to the US(or a US embassy/consulate) with her US certified
birth certificate and apply for a US passport? If the US does issue one to her, how will that
affect her Taiwanese citizenship?
