Doesn't your ARC start the day that you apply for it? They've already verified all of your documents when issuing your work permit. This is my understanding but you could call or go to the immigration office (where you apply for your ARC) and ask to be sure.

Great to hear that.

Hi all
Quick question. Now that I have my new ARC, do I need to apply for a visa??? My boss confused me today saying that I will need to do something with my passport in order to get my visa. I figure that since I have my ARC the government MUST have granted me with a new visa right???

No. Visa is needed only for entry to Taiwan. Once in Taiwan, all you need is ARC. At the back of the ARC is the visa information that immigration needs when you go abroad. In most cases on white collar jobs, it says multiple entry, so no need to apply for re-entry visa when you go abroad.

There is clearly a mixup in your terminology somewhere. You can only get an ARC if you have an appropriate visa in your passport. And it essentially becomes your visa.

Abacus, yeah, that is what confused me. I was trying to differentiate between a visa and ARC. My boss confused me. But I see not that all I need is my ARC. Thanks AGAIN guys, you are great!
