I'm going to move in with a friend soon and would like to change my ARC address so that it is legit. My friend already has a place established and a lease but I am wondering if I need to be added to the lease to have my address changed, or can I just take his lease down and say this is where I will be staying?

You don't need to be added to the lease but you probably need a piece of mail received at the new address. This is what I did last year when I was subleasing. Our secretary mailed an empty envelope to me.
