Why does my EHD say it's write-protected?

Postby Baas Babelaas » 18 Nov 2011, 13:07

Why does my EHD say it's write-protected? The only way I can get files off, and on too, is by formatting it.

Solution please, techies of the Flob World?

Are you on a Mac with an NTFS (formatted in Windows) drive?

IIRC, there's a setting in Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Removable Storage > Security for this. Not sure the exact hierarchy, as I am away from my Windows box (and it's turned off), but try looking in there. There should be a setting to change your read/write access.

Got all the way in there, but it still won't let me change the controls, and still says write-protected. Will fiddle some more when I get home tonight.
