Anyone Using Pinterest?

Postby Mucha Man » 22 Feb 2012, 22:24

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. It's fascinating, but I'm not exactly sure what it is and what to do with it.

“Everywhere else in the world is also really old” said Prof. Liu, a renowned historian at Beijing University. “We always learn that China has 5000 years of cultural heritage, and that therefore we are very special. It appears that other places also have some of this heritage stuff. And are also old. Like, really old.”

One of my friends says she's addicted to it. She uses it for home decorating, recipe ideas, arts and crafts, books and movies, workout ideas, and etc. I'll check it out when she remembers to send the invitation.

Kind of, yeah. Apparently it's the fastest growing social media website ever.

I can remember the fourth of July runnin' through the backwood bare.
And I can still hear my old hound dog barkin' chasin' down a hoodoo there
Chasin' down a hoodoo there.

It's a nice casual thing for vegging around, and can be addictive. The main question is how much more than commerce and brand building can done with it, since there is no easy external linking, whether in raw http://link.here form or as a deep link. Women have been flocking to it partly because of the plethora of fashion ideas that propagate quite quickly... like a virtual high speed fashion show... like a digital, rapid fire fashion magazine.

Requisite infographic.

More money grubbing social networks trying to make money from selling our own interests and ideas back to us. I spent 15 minutes shutting off all my timeline on Facebook today, a blatant attempt at pushing private information into the public forum, tossers!

Yes, and no. Even I find I get more from them than they take.
