SMS Gateway

Postby mike029 » 07 May 2012, 16:40

I'm looking for an SMS Gateway to send messages over some http api that's reasonably cheap to Taiwanese numbers.

The cheapest I've found so far is 5 cents US from a British company, I believe (don't have my notes in front of me). I put in calls to CHT and Taiwan Mobile, as well. CHT doesn't offer it, and Taiwan mobile has called me back 4 times to just ask me how many messages a month I plan on sending with the rep having no clue about the price of the service or even what it is and insisting I give them a tongyibianhao (I gave them my HK one...). Their enterprise department called me back and I think this is going to require something more in depth than I want. I just want to have Drupal work over an http api to send sms messages to users. Not rocket science. I've done it before for a client with an American company which I forget the name at this second and it takes all of 5 minutes to set up.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good (cheap) service here? I'm thinking around 1 cent USD would be nice.

You generally can't send someone more than a couple of full-size digital photos as an e-mail attachment; those files are too big, and they'll bounce back to you. (Instead, use iPhone or Picasa--photo-organizing programs that can automatically scale down photos in the process of e-mailing them.)
