iTunes Taiwan now selling music/movies

Just a heads up....you can now purchase content direct in the Taiwan iTunes store. pricing looks pretty cheap for music, not so much for movies.

I don't want to setup a third account yet but some pricing indication might be helpfull?

I can share the difference between my EU and US account : 20 to 25 % give and take more expensive in EU.
Movie : 4.99 Euro vs 4.99 USD
Song : 0.99 Euro vs. 0.99 USD

What are the prices on the TW iTunes then?

“Everywhere else in the world is also really old” said Prof. Liu, a renowned historian at Beijing University. “We always learn that China has 5000 years of cultural heritage, and that therefore we are very special. It appears that other places also have some of this heritage stuff. And are also old. Like, really old.”

iTunes Taiwan previously did not sell music or movies only apps. Prices seem to be 20ntd per song 200 per album. Seems pretty cheap to me. Of course if you is already set up with a US or UK account you needn't switch. But for us lifers its quite convenient for picking up single songs missing from our ipods.

There's not many movies yet but there is movie rentals; new HD rentals for 60 knicker, 30 day download validity and 48 hours to complete viewing.

:loco: did you even looked at my post above? 20 NTD is 30% cheaper than the US store and 50% vs Europe for a song.

As also HD rentals ; at 60 NTD only - its a steal and again much cheaper than EU or the US.

Need to ask my wife setting up a Taiwan Account! Cheaper it is if your prices are right

I'm sorry, I directly answer your question re. pricing and you hit me with the looney tunes icon? :fume:

But yeah, it's well cheap. I watched a movie last night that was only released 2 days ago in US iTunes. 60 NT, HD quality. Just hope they release a whole lot more movies.

I picked up an album of 89 songs, a Chinese pop compilation, for a mere 20nt$ so I could have that driving in a Taiwan taxi vibe while spending the summer in Canada.

Now if I could only find someplace to buy a new Apple TV...apparently when someone mentioned to Apple Taiwan that they might want to start selling these when the iTunes Store opened with actual content, their response was something along the lines of, "Nah, forget it, we're making wayyy too much money as it is."
