Hinet news server?

Im trying to connect to the news server at netnews.hinet.net (and also tried news.hinet.net), but doesnt seem to be working.
I can telnet to that address only on port 25, which is the ESMTP server...

Anyone know if their nntp server is still up and how to connect?

I can ping netnews.hinet.net, telnet's no joy for both port 25 and port 119 (which I read is their nntp server).

I have just read somewhere that you might need to be on hinet's subnet to connect to their nntp, so I couldn't do it from school since it's on the academic network, and can't do it from work either, since it's work network...
