Non-teacher getting a second job teaching, can I get work permit ok?

I have an ARC and work permit already for my marketing job but want to start a second job teaching a few hours a week for the extra income. Is this possible? I have been told I just need my current employer to write a letter authorizing the extra job, work permit and the addition of the school to my existing ARC. Then apparently the CLA will process it no problem.. Is this the case? Anybody have any recent experience of this? Please get back to me...thanks!

Good question.

I don't know if there is any difference in procedure for someone currently working in a non-teaching job to add a teaching job to their ARC, as long as they have the qualifications (passport from one of the recognized English speaking countries and a Bachelors degree in anything). In the case of a teacher adding a second job, though, no letter or permission from the current employer is required.

Thanks Craig, that helps. Has anyone actually tried finding information in the actual legislature? If you haven't you're not missing much...
