Looking for a SCOOTER / 10.8. - 31.8.

Postby Lukas » 06 Aug 2012, 13:53

Hello,

I'm a guy from Czech republic, Europe. Want to travel around Taiwan 10.8. - 31.8. and I'm looking for a scooter for rent in Taipei or close to Taipei. The thing is, I'm willing to pay something for that, but not as much as in a rental shop. So, if your scooter stays in the garage and is not used, reply please:)

Thank you for your offers.

ha.. I wouldn't lend my scooter to a stranger.. what happens if you are going to kill someone? Or Speeding tickets? Just rent one from a shop, the prices are around 15 euros per day. But it will be hard to find a place that will let you rent one without valid taiwanese drivers licence.

I think you will be fine with a passport and a valid international license! Just curious, what were you looking to spend if someone had a scooter to rent for you?

Licence? Licence? We don't need no steeenkeeng licence.

Not in Tainan anyway. They just photocopy your ID. I think I've only done that with an ARC though. Not sure if it'd work with just a passport, but I'd guess it would.

100NT a day for a 50cc, though you'd need a 125cc for a round-island trip.

Given the hire price difference between Tainan and Taipei, plus what's likely to be a more relaxed attitude to those license things, I'd say it would probably be well worth starting and finishing your road journey down here.

Ah. According to the title you've already started, so too late.

Hope its going well, despite the wet and the couple of typhoons incoming.
