Here is a very interesting youtube video which I have just watched today. This could be of very high significance. Please take a look for yourself. I don't want to add anything else at this point.

At long last, a perpetual motion machine that can run for more than 10 seconds using nothing more than the vapor of acetone. :bravo:

I would add that there seems to be at least some exhaust contamination in the acetone/water mix which could also be oil vapor form the engine's sump. Some of this may also be being burned.

Isn't perpetual motion, by law, impossible?

I must stress though, that at this point neither the inventor or video content make claims that this is a perpetual motion machine.

Fuel doesn't seem to be the problem/require explanation. AIR/oxygen is the problem/requires explanation.

The implication seems to be that water is being broken down in the engine to provide oxygen to sustain the combustion.

Water does break down at IC engine operating temperatures, but I wouldn't expect this to be self-sustaining.

Best guess? He's got an air leak in his induction path.

If not, um....is he selling shares? :)

I suppose that, if it was very hot (perhaps due to running lean) this might enhance water-breakdown temporarily.

Acetone has a high octane number, and water is an anti-knock agent, and these two factors might permit leaner running.

Still don't see how it can be self-sustaining without an air-leak though.

No, not in Taiwan.

I'm assuming above (I suppose because the guy seems to be Australian) that this isn't a trick, i.e. the guy believes what he's saying, though he's presumably wrong.

If we have to account for possible tricks, it gets easier, but more complicated.

If I wanted to get this to apparently work with the mechanism intact and as described, I'd try accidentally tipping some hydrogen peroxide into the water.

Might not work but it'd be exciting.

Certainly more exiting than prematurely faking-up a video for April 1st.
