Ride a bicycle first where you plan to ride a scooter

Each to their own but I'd never ride a bicycle here, at least with the scooter you're keeping pace with the traffic and you're a reasonable size. On a bike you're even more vulnerable, despite going slower.

But if you do decide to ride at least fucking peddle which is more than most of the halfwits on the road do.

Even with stiff fines there are simply still too many drivers out there that are driving while drunk. They cause deaths on taiwan roads just about every day.

This is another reason why you shouldnt be on a scoot. This scooter rider was stopped at a red light as he should be and is rear ended by a drunk driver and killed . The driver sped off but was caught. He was drinking and driving. The scooter rider left behind a wife and two college aged children . He was the family bread winner.

These drivers who drive drunk and cause a death should be charged with murder , like in many countries, and sent off to prison for a sentence not to be less then ten years (if it was up to me).

Quite. Driving is dangerous enough when you're sober. Getting drunk and then getting in a car is like walking down the street waving a machete: it's a deliberate attempt to kill someone. Although I've never heard of any countries where it is actually treated as murder. Pretty much everywhere it's still considered an accident. I've heard in Taiwan being drunk used to actually be considered a valid defence?

IIRC, there was a case of a russian mowing down people waiting at a bus stop while drunk. I believe he was sentenced to death !
