This may be true if you read Mandarin. Dunno, and never likely to find out.
In English the Taiwan DL is a huge pain in the arse, because there is a multiple choice "theory" test.

Well, OK. Anyone who's had any involvement with Taiwanese multiple choice tests in any context will be able to guess what a meaningless morass of anti-logic that is likely to generate when applied to driving here.
In many cases the questions, let alone the answers, are meaningless, and you have absolutely no chance of using logic to work it out. The only workable tactic is to learn the answers by rote, although there are different versions of the approved nonsense in circulation, so you have to try and make sure you get the "correct" version of the practice questions from the test centre you'll be tested at.
Fair play, I'd be surprised if you can do the UK test in Mandarin. OTOH I'd bet money the Taiwan test doesn't make much sense in Mandarin either.
The "practical" element of the motorcycle license is pretty silly, but easy. OTOH the "practical" element of the car test is pretty silly, but rather difficult, and is apparently designed to funnel cash into the "driving schools".
