Ford Escort mark I:

My Mum taught me to drive on that, and 15 years later she gave it to me. She had never changed the oil in that time, and when I tried to the first time there was nearly nothing left but a black tar. But it still ran, although new oil merely revealed more faults and leaks, and it never made it past 90 km/h, even with much pushing.
ford Escort Mark II:

much better, my ex girlfriend stole it from me and sold it for either an ounce of pot or a gram of smack ( I only ever saw the police report of the sale)
Ford XP Falcon 176 Pursuit (the hot police engine!)

A wallowy bag of 30 year old shit that still cruised at 160 kmh for a memorable 24 hour dash to and from the ski fields (with a full 8 hours skiing). Great memories, wide back seat was a bonus.
Big gap filled with Ducatis. Many of them, none of them trouble free but all fun.
Mazda RX7 FD3S, 1994 model.

Absolutely sorted engine, suspension, steering, exhaust, 350 HP. Unbeatable but unlivable: way too hot inside, impractical entry, doors three miles long (try that in small car parks), guzzled fuel and oil, hoses kept dying/splitting/popping off/mysteriously exploding. Never again, but glad I owned one.
BMW Z4 3.0.

Powerful, smart, gorgeous, comfortable, handles reasonably well, excellent gearbox steering is less than ideal road-feel wise due to electric assist but rock solid nonetheless, and pretty frugal (in comparison). Perfect, except for the small problem of carrying two bikes (tow bar hitch is available).
