250cc lightweight motorcycles, not made by CPI

I went to a dealership today in Kaohsiung. They sell import bikes.
It took me 10 minutes just to convince them that Taiwan does indeed have Suzuki TU250's and they aren't illegal...

Anyways, finally we got to talking, but they don't carry any and we they ended up just going online on ruten, which I could do (if I had help).

So, getting a used TU250 at a dealership is simply not an option? This bike seems pretty elusive. I think I have seen one on the road once, in Kaohsiung, but it was hard to tell.

Are all the Suzuki TU250's in Taiwan 2005 or older? Do newer ones simply not come in now? Does anyone on here actually own one?

I'm curious if the mechanics here are can work on them well.

Just curious, I am also looking to get off the scooter and onto a bike. What white plate bike in Taiwan do you consider the best hp/reliability for the buck.
Of course, something like the Ninja 250 is fast and a great build, but costs a ton. For the dollar, what bikes are on the top end for both power and reliability?

You can take a look at SYM T2 (new 250cc) Looks nice but still expensive compared to USA prices however good price for Taiwan market.

I wish and hope the presence of the 250cc T2 would spark the development of a 250 Quannon and a larger, 250 KTR.

I saw one on the street the other day. It looked pretty nice (despite being covered in Honda stickers, sigh) -- the headlight wasn't as awful as it looks in photos. Made a nice "vroom vroom" noise too.

I'm kinda curious about the price.

I've seen them on yahoo bid for sale at 147 000NTD.
Seems like a decent price if it's not too shoddily built and designed. Plus it's SYM so part and support will be available in TW.
